Overview

A peaceful walk through woods and fields, mostly on good, firm surfaces. The first two miles are mainly hilly as we follow tracks through wooded parts of the Misarden (sic) Estate. The final three miles are pretty flat. The novel feature of this walk is that it departs twice from the Carpenter’s Arms – once at 10 a.m. and then again at 11.30 a.m. The second departure is where less able walkers can join in – and still end up at the pub for lunch! There is only one stile on the whole route, and although it is on the second loop of the walk, it is a sturdy and well-designed stile. The walk is particularly good for bird sightings. You are very likely to see red kites and buzzards. We pass by some very attractive and impressive buildings made of Cotswold stone, including the beautiful Warneford House.
