Overview

Short and hilly walk with some nice views for all you elevation lovers out there, we'll start with nice quick ascent up Mow Cop castle, and admire mysterious Old Man of Mow, and wander around Mow Cop village to descend right after through the Quarry Wood onto an easy flat section of Macclesfield Canal. Total of around 5 miles (9km) and 250m ( 820 ft) of climbing. Make sure you bring warm shoes and clothing, carry waterproofs in case of bad weather, if icy - ice grips recommended, very likely we'll have very muddy patches of path on this one.
