A linear walk following the River Earn from just outside Muthill to Crieff. This is a very pretty walk but can be muddy and overgrown in places, not surprising with the rain we have had. We follow the Earn to the remains of the Stuart Crystal factory then cross the road, go through the woods towards Crieff. After crossing the river bridge we divert through some nice little cottages, skirt the graveyard before heading for our cars which will be parked in the middle of the town
A few steps to climb before we get there.
As this is a linear walk we will have to do a car shuttle. Drivers should drop their passengers off in Drummond Street, which is the Main Street running though Muthill. Passengers should wait at Old Muthill Church, Drummond Street, while the drivers take their cars to King St/Galvelmore St Car Park. PH7 3HA. Free to park on Sunday and very close to cafes.
Please try to car share as myself and A N Other will have to taxi the drivers back to Muthill to start the walk.
(The bus service does not start until 11.00 on a Sunday).
