This 7.8 mile walk takes us to the centre of the arboretum to view the poignant Memorial Wall before continuing past many prominent dedicated and impressive sculptures. We then engage on a large loop which includes the Trent and Mersey canal with the weir locks and distinctive raised walkways above the estuaries to the river Trent. Our loop then brings us back to the top end of the arboretum where we can explore some more memorials, ending up in the visitor's centre for refreshments. Bring packed lunch. National Memorial Arboretum:- "is an evolving, maturing woodland landscape featuring 25,000 trees and a large collection of nearly 400 memorials which honour the fallen, recognise service and sacrifice, and foster pride in the British Armed Forces and civilian community"
