Meet at a free parking area in the centre of Clumber Park. Enter the park at the Apleyhead Lodge entrance off the A614. Go through the arch and then carry on straight down Lime Tree Avenue for a mile or so ignoring all turns left and right. When you reach the cross roads where you normally turn left to pass the National Trust paypoint DO NOT DO SO. Instead carry on over the crossroads for another 200 yards. You will then see two open spaces either side of the road where you can park for free. This is where the walk starts. Alternatively you can park in the NT car park if you are a member or don’t mind paying. Those only doing the first half may like to consider this so they do not have to walk back to their car after the lunch break.
