Overview

Nick of pendle Wednesday 4th December 10.30

The walk starts from the centre of Whalley and takes in the villages of Sabden on the outward journey before returning via Wiswell. A mixture of ancient paths, farm land and a small amount of moorland. Not a fell walk but one or two steep assents . The walk does not go up Pendle Hill. The villages have different characters, Wiswell, a typical Ribble Valley village, Sabden bigger with an industrial past and some commercial businesses still present. Once dominated by a cotton mill the sight of which is a  housing estate with a small chimney showing it's industrial past. There is a small heritage trail with information boards to explain it's past.
