Second in a series of linear walks - travelling from the northernmost point in Surrey (at the top of Wraysbury reservoir) to the southernmost point (on the slopes of Blackdown).
Picking up where we left off, we'll leave Weybridge station at 10:40. If you get the train from Worplesdon at 10:06, you'll get into Weybridge at 10:35, otherwise you'll need to get back to Weybridge at the end of the walk.
We'll head down the hill and pick up the Wey and Godalming Navigation by the Wey bridge, where the navigation rejoins the river. This is one of the oldest canalised rivers in England, opening up in 1653. We'll be heading down past the old Coxes Lock Mill buildings, and following the canal section between the Byfleets. Passing down here we'll get to Waleham Gates, where the navigation and the river split apart. Lunch will be near to the ruins of Newark Priory. Keeping south, the path leads to Send, where we might stop at the New Inn for a drink.
After that, it's a few more miles through Sutton Green to Worplesdon station, and the end of this section.
Other notes:
- We've provided an automated estimate of the end time and this will be affected by many factors - please only use as a guide. The description above may also have specific notes on ending details.
- If not mentioned in the walk description, the given ending point will be based on the nearest train station or other obvious central landmark, and might not be exactly where the walk actually ends.
