We are the Cambridge Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This London walk explores the wetlands and formal gardens of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with its impressive architecture of the West Ham Stadium, Velodrome and Aquatic Centre. The walk continues along the Greenway with its wildflower planting for pollinators and sights of the impressive Victorian Abbey Mills Pumping Station. The walk ends overlooking the Royal Albert Dock and London City Airport.
Bring snacks and drinks although there will be a coffee stop in the Olympic Park.
The meeting point is outside the ticket barrier at Stratford tube station at 10.15. For those travelling from Cambridge catch the 8.20 train to London Liverpool Street and then the Underground to Stratford on the Central Line. The walk ends overlooking the Royal Albert Docks where there are cafes. The return is from Royal Albert Station on the Docklands Light Railway
