Overview

This walk of about 6 miles takes you north of Midsomer Norton and into the Cam Valley.  Along the way you will head uphill to get a birds eye view of Midsomer Norton. Take an opportunity to walk fields before solar panels are installed and admire one of the best views in the district of the Cam Valley, stretching from Greyfield Wood to Camerton Colliery and beyond. There is time to absorb the relaxed surroundings of the Somersetshire Coal Canal remnants. If you wish to fed the ducks, please bring some bird seed rather then bread, (which pollutes the pond.)  You will wiggle your way back to Midsomer Norton, climbing 'up and over' back to the Somer Valley via Brittens, Ham, Monger and Greenhill. This walk is of interest to nature lovers and those with an interest in industrial history. Access along the walk is mainly gated.  May be one stile if field gate is closed.

After the walk enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake with your fellow walkers.
