Overview

A short winter walk to build up an appetite for a warm meal in Goring or Streatley.

Walking through nature reserve next to Thames (can be muddy), then gentle climb into hills of 360 ft/ 110 metres, back down along a bridleway and then on pavement into Streatley/ Goring.

The Bull in Streatley, The Swan on the river or the Miller of Mansfield in Goring serve food.

6 miles, finish time between 12:30 and 13:00.

Two trains per hour back from Goring.

08:56 from Ealing Broadway arrives Reading 09:40 to meet the 09:08 from Paddington which arrives at 09:44 but waits until 09:53 to depart for Pangbourne, arriving at 10:01 (so 13 minutes to change platforms if coming direct from Ealing Broadway).  Toilets at Reading, none at Pangbourne.
