The Rhymney Riverside walk winds for 32 miles along the floor of the river through the steep sided glacial valley to the flatter wider valley further south.
This section from Pengam follows the river on small paths then road to Hengoed, 'Gren' and viaduct fame - great views from the latter north and south. The river flows through urban areas so a mix of road and riverside paths to Ystrad Mynach and Llanbradach with various points of interest.
