We are Herts Weekend Walkers, HWW for Short . We are aimed at people aged in their 40s, 50s & 60s who are normally working during the week and can usually only find time to get outside and enjoy a walk at the weekend.

This circular walk covers the southern area of an early medieval swathe of land known as Pelham, almost exclusively agricultural, which has since been subdivided into three parishes, two of which we visit.
The area has an exceptional depth of heritage in which the historical pattern of the small rural settlements in close proximity to one another remains largely intact and has generated a network of public rights of way that offer fine views over the gently-undulating countryside.
We visit in turn Furneux (pronounced locally “fur-nux”) Pelham with its unusual church clock, and Stocking Pelham, one of the smallest parishes in East Hertfordshire.
The walk concludes at Patmore Heath, a Site of Special Scientific Interest which is an outstanding example of grass heathland, now a scarce habitat in the south east of England.
This is a moderate pace walk. We want everyone to enjoy our walks, if you have any concerns about the pace please speak to the walk leader.
