A return to Pendeford for us this Sunday located just to the northwest of Wolverhampton. It's a nice walk and pretty much flat throughout featuring field footpaths, a canal towpath, and some road walking on quiet lanes. Approximately 10 stiles.
Registration: 10.00*. Walk start: 10.15.
Fancy a day out with ya boots on?🥾🥾. If so you're most welcome to join us, although if this is your very first time with Chase Ramblers it'd be cool if you could drop us a line to tell us you're coming along so we can l👀k out for you. Thanks!
*Please note the gates at Pendeford Mill Nature Reserve officially open at 10.00 and close at 16.00. Wolverhampton Council own the facility but at weekends the opening/closing is contracted to a security company that have to travel there as well as to other sites. Usually they're on time but may be a few minutes late very occasionally.
Directions: Primarily for our own members but good for anyone coming in from the north via Coven and the A449.
From your home location pick up the A449 southbound to Four Ashes and then proceed for 1.25 miles through the next lights at Standeford until the first island where turn acute right signed for Brewood and Coven.
You enter Coven village immediately after making this turn. Follow the road through (Brewood Road) for 0.25 mile to take the second left into Lawn Lane. Follow the course of this road for 1.5 miles to reach the bridge over the M54.
From this point continue for a further 0.5 mile to take the second right into Pendeford Hall Lane signed for Old Tree Nursery and Pendeford Mill Nature Reserve. Please ignore the first right turn after the motorway bridge which is also Pendeford Hall Lane.
After 100 yards turn left into the nature reserve and follow to the car park noting this officially opens at 10.00.
