Overview

Hello Everyone

We have an additional short midweek walk coming up this Thursday courtesy of Linda & Neil who have five miles at Penkridge lined up for us. The route includes canal towpath, footpaths, and some quiet lanes. Fancy it but not walked with us before?  If so, you're most welcome to join in - especially if you'd like to give the group a try without committing yourself to any of our longer Sunday events.

Registration: 09.45.  Walk start: 10.00.  Walk Leaders: Neil & Lynn (07821 759997)

No facilities at the start or on the walk itself. We'll have a short break around the midway point.

Post walk refreshments to be taken in The Boat pub who have kindly granted us permission to use their car park.

⚠️There's no rendezvous at Hednesford for our own members since this is a local walk. Please go direct to the start.

From Burntwood and Cannock take the B5012 New Penkridge Road out of Cannock for 4 miles to pass over the M6 on the eastern side of Penkridge. At the mini-island 200 yards later head straight across towards the town centre. After 400 yards (and some speed bumps) cross over the canal with The Boat on your right. Pass the pub the take the next right into Haling Road. The pub car park entrance is 100 yards further along on your right. Photos above.

From the A449 from Wolverhampton or Stafford directions the easiest route is to take Wolgarston Way from the island on the southwest side of town, follow it through until the second island where turn left towards the town centre, then as  above.
