Hello Everyone
We're walking from Penkridge this Sunday on walk leader Heather's home turf. (OK then, turf with a bit of mud thrown in may be more accurate given all the rain we've had this week).
Our route will now pass through Teddesley Park, courtesy of Mr Lees, owner of the Teddesley estate. The walk features field footpaths, a canal towpath, wider estate tracks, and a little road walking to pull it all together. Some interesting architecture along the way too. Why not join us? You're most welcome to come along.
Registration: 09.45. Walk start: 10.00. Our own members should note there is no rendezvous in Hednesford for this event. Please drive direct to the start.
Post walk pub to be decided🤔. We're not exactly short of choices in Penkridge.
Directions: Primarily for our own members but good for anyone ultimately arriving via the A449 into Penkridge.
From your home location to Cannock town centre where follow the signage for Penkridge via the B5012 New Penkridge Road. Follow the course of the B5012 for 4 miles to approach Penkridge over the M6 bridge on the outskirts then turn left at the island onto Wolgarston Way, still B5012, and continue for 1 mile exactly, over the first island, and onwards to the next island with the A449.
Turn right here onto the A449, direction Stafford, and continue for 0.5 mile dropping downhill gently. Look out for the church on your right hand side where turn right immediately after passing (screenshot in the photos above). Proceed for 75 yards where Clay Street car park is on your left. There's more than one parking area hereabouts but please avoid that which serves the church. Thank you.
