Overview

We will walk from Ivybridge Park and Ride (free parking) on to the moor via Stowford Bridge and Dartmoor/Two Moors Way (can be a little stony underfoot so good footwear, please).  Once on the moor we’ll head straight up to Western Beacon on to Butterdon Hill and then to Hangershell Rock for tea/coffee break.  We follow the stone row to Sharp Tor for spectacular views over the River Erme valley below (weather permitting), then a steepish clamber down to Piles Copse for lunch.  From the copse we head to Harford and then back along the west bank of the River Erme before returning to the car park.
