A circular walk from Harmer Hill. Starting with a woodland loop around Pim Hill that includes some short steep climbs to warm you up on a January day. The route passes old sandstone quarries, pine woods with views across the local country side and then descends to open fields heading towards the village of Myddle. The final section rises up to follow the sandstone ridge back towards Harmer Hill.
The start of the walk is from The Bridgewater Arms / Premiere Inn car park, with the opportunity to purchase a drink or coffee and the conclusion of the walk. There is a short section (100m) of road walking at the start where single file is essential. The woodland section has, as expected, exposed tree roots and in one section a fallen tree requires a slight scramble. The open fields are muddy and water logged in places so good boots, gaiters and poles are recommended.
The walk leader will meet walkers at the start. Please book by text and say if you need a lift from the P&R.
