This walk begins and ends with the flow of the River Pinn through suburban parkland. In between, it threads its way past road and present and future rail, to escape the city and find the lakes of the Colne Valley and the hillsides above them. Gradients are not particularly steep and pace will not be particularly fast. Please bring packed lunch, pub stop at end of walk.
Terrain: Fields, riverbank/towpath, lanes, some built-up stretches.
Travel: Use TfL Journey Planner to get to the start on time. Note that, at the time of writing this description, TfL indicates that only Metropolitan Line trains will be serving Ickenham (NOT Piccadilly Line trains).
