This walk is mainly along the Ridgeway and is uphill and downhill through woodlands and chalk downlands. There are a few steeper ascents in places and also at least two flights of steps built into the landscape so walking poles may be useful. On the way it goes through Grangelands Nature Reserve and passes near Chequers.. It then goes up Coombe Hill to the monument before descending into Wendover.
On a clear day, it offers some magnificent views over the Vale of Aylesbury and surrounding areas.
Bring a picnic Lunch. There will be a pub stop for drinks and toilets.

Recommended train: London Marylebone 9:37, arrive Princes Risborough 10:21
Princes Risborough and Wendover are on different branches of the line so you may need to buy separate single tickets to PR and from Wendover. However, depending on what rail cards you have, it may be cheaper to buy a returm to Aylesbury so it's worth checking.
