Starting at the CP we take a gentle ascent to Bickerton Hill on good paths before a gentle descent to cross the A534. We approach the ascent of Rawhead, slightly steeper than before but still on excellent paths up to the trig point. There's some exposure to the left over a cliffs but not dangerous and the excitement doesn't last long. Anyway, there's a handrail in place and you're on the Sandstone Way afterall. The next challenge is Bulkely Hill before dropping down, after a bit of a pull, to the A534 again at the Bickerton Poacher Pub. Now we cross open Cheshire fields back to CP.
Approach the CP from the north on the A534 side. On a country lane you pass a cemetery and Bickerton Church eventually come to a pond on your right. Turn here up the track to the CP. Avoid approaching from the south, Ducklington, as you will be on a sunken lane with no passing places.
Please let the walk leader know that you will be joining him. This helps him cater for larger numbers and ensures that we don't start without you.
