Overview

6 miles, 360 ft ascent. Leader: Eva Hyde. From Bromsgrove station we walk along the Monarch’s Way, a short section next to the railway line and then across a field to Stoke Cross. We continue along a minor road to Cherry Trees farm. Here we cross a field to the Worcester and Birmingham canal, past a lock then up a small hill to Tardebigge Church. From the church we rejoin the canal and walk past the Tardebigge locks, the longest flight of locks in the UK with 30 locks in 2.25 miles, to arrive at Stoke Pound.  We may stop briefly at The Queen’s Head pub here (5 miles) before returning through fields and a quiet housing estate close to the railway line, finishing back at Bromsgrove Station.
