Caution: the Harbour Hub car park is now a Pay and Display, but you can park for free (at the time of writing) at the Range, on the Marina Quay Retail Park - do not park at Aldi next to the Range as they have a 2-hour limit.
Going clockwise, we will walk on the right bank of the River Clwyd, along the cycleway (opened in 2008), with the Clwydian Hills in the distance, heading for Rhuddlan village, and their small Nature Reserve, ideal for a coffee/lunch stop. Before heading back towards Rhyl, we will specially visit Twt Hill, a medieval mound which marks the site of Rhuddlan’s first castle (built in 1073) and which affords great views from the top.
The return stretch, on the other side of the river, is not a cyclepath and more secluded, ideal for birdlife (bring your binoculars). We end the walk usually with convivial refreshments at the Harbour Hub Café. See you there!
