An amble ramble through the Frome Valley, starting with a loop Rode to ensure the mileage is achieved! The walk subsequently follows a quiet lane almost as far as Farleigh House, avoiding the footpath north of Rocks Farm that can be claggy and miry (although this might be re-instated depending upon conditions underfoot). The MacMillan Way is followed back to Rode Hill, passing through the hamlet of Tellisford with its charming packhorse bridge across the Frome that perfect for Pooh Sticks. Pleasant landscape, views, woodland, a riverside path and the site of a murder mystery; homework is reading ‘The Suspicions of Mr Whicher’. Gently undulating with one short ascent of some 60 feet. Bring poles and folding sit mats or similar to avoid a damp posterior during the coffee break. Bring snack.
