A circular walk of approx 7.5 miles which starts at the Church. We walk to Thorgill using field paths and a short stretch of road. From here we follow the Daleside Road track passing Medd's Farm and on to Moorlands Farm. More field paths then take us to Dale Head Farm where there is a short but fairly steep climb to the old railway line. We will stop here for a break to enjoy the extensive views of Rosedale assuming a clear day! We then walk along the track passing the kilns before dropping back down to Rosedale Abbey on stone trods and field paths.
Please note that there are lots of gates on the route plus a couple of stiles. Paths can be muddy and slippery at times. It can be exposed on the railway track even in summer particularly if there is a strong wind.
Assistance dogs only.
There will be a ten minute break. Please feel free to bring a drink/snack to enjoy.
Note that there is a national cycle race on the day which may make your journey to Rosedale longer if travelling from East Cleveland in particular Guisborough.
