Overview

BOOKING REQUESTED

(Please note walk description has been amended). From Rowarth south via Laneside Farm and Wethercoats, then turning north and ascending Lantern Pike, then north along the Pennine Bridleway crossing Matley Moor.  We turn off the Bridleway at Higher Plainstead Farm and Rocks Farm and ascend onto Cown Edge. South via Far Slack and Near Slack back to Rowarth. Risk assessment: Some steady ascents including a stony ascent out of Rowarth at the beginning of the walk.  May be muddy in places if wet.  A small amount of road walking, and caution required crossing Monks Road.  There may be a few cattle on Matley Moor.
