Ruthin is a old Market Town in Denbighshire, and its castle sits up on a hill. We park the coach next to the Ruthin Craft Centre. Walk along the banks of the river Clwyd, or up into the surrounding hills. Or come along and explore at your own pace. Whatever you do today you can be sure of a warm welcome at the many pubs and cafes on your return.
Picking up at all point going South there will be three walks available, with details circulated on the coach. They will range from an easy C Walk to the more strenuous depending on the walk selected. With full details circulated on the coach.
A Walk Leader - Chris Grayson - 9 to 10 miles with not much climb.Starting at a layby at Pentre and heading for Bryn Celyn.On to Minffordd and make for Rhewl for lunch. Then on to Bodyngharad. Lanes through Llanfwrog and on to Ruthin.
B Walk Leader - Dave Eccles - Around 9.5 miles, total ascent 900ft. We start by heading north out of Ruthin towards Rhew, then south following the Afon Clywedog amongst woodland in the direction of Bontchel. Then thrrough the forest of Coed-Fron-Wyllt (wood of the wild side), and finally narrow county lanes back to Ruthin.
C Walk Leader - Carol Gummerson 6.5 miles. Leaving the coach at the Craft Centre we head around the Sports Ground and head across fields to join the Clwydian Way in the wooded valley near Coed y Nant. After lunch we head northeast to Rhewl, before returning to Ruthin.
