Overview

From Sneck Yate we head south for a short while along the Cleveland Way as far as High Barn, at which point we descend westwards to the village of Boltby. After a stop for drinks we continue north through Gurton Wood, along Windygill Ridge to Gallow Hill and beyond until we rejoin the Cleveland Way where we will stop for lunch.  After lunch we head east and then south west over to the far side of Dale Town Common.  After passing High Paradise Farm it is a short walk (about 1 mile) through Boltby Wood back to the cars.
