We are the Bury Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A circular walk around Scammonden Water and Slaithwaite Moor along part of the Colne Valley Circular Walk, calling at Merry Dale, Wilberlee and Wholestone Moor with great views of Scammonden Bridge across the M62. Returning along the side of the reservoir to the start.
Note: This walk is graded as Moderate/Strenuous and contains steep ascents and descents on cobbled paths which may be slippy when wet.
Walk unsuitable for dogs.
Scammonden Water higher car park, Low Platt Lane, Huddersfield. From A640 Huddersfield Rd travelling east, turn left onto O'Cot Lane then right onto Low Platt Lane. Do not follow postcode directions.
