Overview

The walk follows the Writers Way north-east from Selborne, past some beautiful old beech trees. We turn south - the map says orchards but they seem to have disappeared. There is a short section of road walking to Adderhood Hanger - then we cross the road to Noar Hill. We skirt round the base of the hill then up onto the Common to see some colourful chalk down habitat. A bit further on we slowly ascend Selborne Hill, circling through the woods to finish our walk going down Gilbert White’s Zigzag path with magnificent views across the countryside. If we’re back in time and you need a reward a visit to the tearoom at Gilbert White’s house is highly recommended.

Coffee and lunch stops along the way.
