We return to a group favourite this Sunday - the Severn Valley. From Arley we meander down to our lunch stop at Bewdley before returning along the western bank of the River Severn. Reasonably flat throughout with some wooded sections.
Join us if you will, but if you're new to the group please drop us a line beforehand so that we know you're coming along, thanks. If you've walked with us previously just turn up - you're good to go.

No loo's at the start (they're closed) but available at lunchtime in Bewdley. Alternatives in either Kidderminster or Bridgnorth are given in the directions below.
A choice of cafe or pub in Arley post walk. Can't go wrong here!
A feature of this event is our lunch stop where most will dive into Bewdley's well known chip shop rather than carry a packed lunch. Mind you, if the warm weather holds it could be ice creams instead. We'll see on the day.
Directions via the M5 & A456 to Kidderminster. The start is located 2 miles off the A442 Kidderminster to Bridgnorth road.
Pick up the M6 southbound and then the M5 to junction 3 where exit slip and right onto the A456 direction Kidderminster to follow this road over all subsequent islands and junctions for 11 miles until Kidderminster and the island signed for the Ring Road near the town centre.
Turn right onto the ring road, still A456, over the next island, then select the middle lane marked A442 Bridgnorth and through the traffic lights to the next island where take the right hand lane marked A442 Bridgnorth and turn right.
Continue on the A442 for 4 miles until Shatterford where turn left into Arley Lane to descend the long hill into Upper Arley. In the village continue around the right hand bend, past the Post Office and cafe, to then turn sharp left 100 yards later into the road that leads to the grass car parking area.
The above motorway route is the quickest on paper (for our own members). The alternative is via the A460/A449 into Wolverhampton, out on the A454 to Bridgnorth, followed by the A442 Kidderminster road for 8 miles, via Quatt and Alveley, to reach Shatterford and turn right, then as above. Various short cuts exist to avoid Bridgnorth if you're familiar with the roads.
Please note that the toilets at Arley are closed. Alternatives are:
Kidderminster: Market Street car park DY10 1AB.
Kidderminster: Brinton Park on Sutton Road DY11 6QS.
Bridgnorth: Severn Street car park WV15 6BB (20p charge by card only).
Anglesey Street rail station car park Hednesford, (adjacent to Hednesford Ex-Servicemen's Club, not the supermarket car park) for a prompt 08.30 departure.
The Arley Estate riverside car park, accessed via Arley Lane, Upper Arley, near Bewdley, Worcestershire. Parking here is chargeable via a meter which takes cash only. £2.00 all day.
