Overview

Starting from the Rising Sun in Shackerstone the walk heads for Little Twycross, Twycross and onto Norton Juxta, Twycross and then across more open countryside where lunch will be taken in Snarestone. The walk makes its way to Ashby Canal for the last mile or so back to Shackerstone.

This part of Leicestershire is full of local tourist attractions including the Battlefield railway line from Shackerstone and Twycross Zoo famous at one time for the Tetley Tea chimpanzees. Open countryside and a canal side walk make this an enjoyable Saturday Ramble
