We are the West Berkshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a reasonably flat walk in almost empty country.
Having gathered outside St Stephen's Church we head to Newtown Lodge Farm and walk parallel to the M4 for (a and very noisy) 400 metres before crossing the motorway and going roughly southwards to cross the road east of Hungerford Newtown, pass Dunkin's Copse and Great Hidden Farm to reach Denford Lane west of Denford Park.
Turning northwards after a half-mile we walk along the perimeter of Heath Hanger Copse, recross the road and traverse open fields back to Shefford Woodlands, arriving at the eastern end of the village.
Please bring a drink and snack for a mid-morning break.
There is no limit on numbers and no need to book.
Please park courteously in the village - the first turn on the right upon entering from the B4000 is a suitable place.
