A circular around Shoreham Beach and the banks of the river Adur, with lunch at the 16th century Red Lion pub. Level, no stiles and firm underfoot, so ideal walking for low-season, but with a fresh sea breeze best enjoyed at a moderately brisk pace.
An eclectic mix to entertain the eyes, from the Adur motor racing circuit, the 'Riverbank' houseboats, a mile-long boardwalk on the Shoreham Beach shingle, Shoreham fort (mid-morning break), quayside, Ferry Bridge, Downs Link LDP to the Red Lion PH (lunch), old toll bridge, then riverbank alongside and into Shoreham Airport back to the start.
Pub lunch at the Red Lion, two-thirds of the way round. Please text leader to book from 6 days before the walk.
