We will begin the walk from Neilston pad parking at 9:30am. This will be an easy circular walk of 5 miles with a stop for picnic lunch at Synpes Reservoir. We also pass Craighall Dam. Good forest path, gaiters not necessary unless exceptionally wet. Poles optional.
Travel through Stewarton towards Dunlop on the A735 and just prior to reaching Dunlop you will see a sign post and a right turn to Neilston. Take this and continue straight approx. 6 miles and just past the reservoir on the left you will see a sign with the Scottish flag to Harelaw Fisheries, turn right here and and continue on this single track until the road takes a sharp turn to the right. The Neilston pad parking is straight ahead also signposted Elderslie Estate and showing Harelaw Fisheries off to the right.
Gaiters not necessary unless it has been very wet. Poles optional. Could be an opportunity for a post walk coffee at Harelaw Fisheries Cafe if it is still open for the season as it is only quarter of a mile away and also has a car park.
Please let Jean W. know if you plan to meet us at Neilston Pad Mobile 07375635256. Walk will commence at 9:30 am.
