We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A rather shorter walk than usual along the Itchen Way and up to Bishopstoke. It will be at a gentle pace but there is a long flight of steps up through the woods. There are no stiles.
The going is mostly good but there is a section where the ground is soft. There will be some pavement walking.
See if you can spot the memorial to the local man who set off to make a new life in America but died in the Titanic disaster.
Meet for coffee at around 10:00. Remember to register your car at reception. We will set off at about 10:30 before returning for lunch.
The mid week carvery is £10.79 for a portion of meat and as many vegetables as you can eat and there are other choices, including vegetarian. The restaurant does not accept dogs.
