The route takes us around Shustoke Reservoir, where there may be sailing going on , then down across a brook to walk alongside the railway on a wooded path.
Coming into the open we will pass unharvested sweetcorn before heading up to the road. Crossing here, we will take the gentle ascent to the church in the original part of the village. We then cross fields and pass through a wood to the back end of the "new" village, returning to the car park.
We will use reservoir embankment, field and woodland paths (leaf shuffling opportunity) and short sections of lanes.
The Plough pub will provide an opportunity for post walk refreshments.
