Our walk begins from the National Trust car park on the B4521 at the southern end of the Skirrid. Parking is free to NT members. A steep climb leads to a ridge walk to the north end of the mountain offering wide reaching views of the Black Mountains and beyond. We then follow a longer gentler descent through open farmland and fields eventually reaching Llanvihangel Crucorney and the famous Skirrid Inn.
From there we head through further fields and a wood before ascending the northern slopes of Bryn Arw. Continuing along the ridge we then descend to a secluded woodland valley then open fields and paths offering a pleasant and easy return to the start.
