We are the Hike Essex Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
The Snow Moon is the second full moon of the year after January's Wolf Moon. We will follow it from Colchester Main Station to Wivenhoe along the Wivenhoe Trail. The path snakes it's way along the River Colne and, in the dark promises to be calm, atmospheric and, most of all, fun.
This is a fully accessible walk. The trail path is good and, hopefully moonlit, nevertheless I recommend bringing a torch (head torch, phone etc). There should be plenty of us if you don't have one.
Plan is to warm up in a pub in Wivenhoe at the end. This is of course optional and we can point you in the right direction back if you want to head off..
This walk is subject to weather conditions particularly as it is a night walk. Please check back here before attending.
There are regular direct trains back from Wivenhoe (to Colchester, Chelmsford and beyond) as well as buses.

We will meet at the main (north) entrance to Colchester Station. By train - whichever direction you arrive from, turn right at the bottom of the steps on the platform and follow signs to exits. By car - there is a huge car-park at Colchester station.
