Overview

Last week’s walk but in the other direction and hopefully less rain. Taking our time, we start with a gradual steep ascent to the top of the northern escarpment of the Black Mountains and then down a valley for coffee by the waterfall. From here we continue southwards where we will be rewarded with beautiful views over the Vale of Ewyas. Our route returns weigh a steep but fairly short climb. From here a good path will take us to Twmpa

We will park our cars just over the cattle grid on grassy open access land above Newcourt. The ground is firm and there is plenty of space. The best route, with more passing places, is to turn left from the A438 just after crossing over the river at Glasbury. Follow the minor road toward Felindre. At Felindre turn left again and then right along the road past Newcourt for about 2KM.
