Area long walk.
The route will take us along the Rochdale Canal, past Magson House Farm to Luddenden and on to Jerusalem Farm nature reserve. We'll then ascend to Midgley Moor where we'll join the Calderdale Way. We'll leave this to descend past Hebden Bridge Golf Club and on to the station.
Included are several short sections along (usually) quiet roads, two ahort but steep descents (care needed, especially if wet) and two short but fairly steep ascents. There should be limited toilet facilities available at Luddenden church (probable coffee stop) and Jerusalem Farm (probable lunch stop).
No booking required. We do ask that everyone carries an ICE card - we can supply if needed.
The walks will invariably involve ascent and descent, some of which may be steep. They will usually take in stiles and cover ground that may, depending on the weather, be soft and/or muddy, sometimes with ill defined tracks across fields or moorland. Please consider your personal fitness and ability before attending the walk - if you're not sure, feel free to contact us for advice on the potential conditions. Please wear appropriate clothing for the prevailing weather, bring any essentials and lunch.
