This is the first walk of our St Ives weekender.
And it's a Bootlegs pilgrimage!
It's an early start but it starts straight out of our accommodation and should allow an early finish.
This walk is a satisfying coast to coast walk (St Michael's Way) and is also part of the Camino de Santiago. A vast network of trails in Europe leads to St James’ Cathedral in Santiago de Compostela, northern Spain. And with roots dating back to pre-historic times between 10,000BC and 410AD, it has been followed by missionaries and pilgrims for thousands of years.
We will head out to Interchange on the main road from Lelant to Marazion with the aim of catching the bus to Marazion at 9.22 so that we can take a leisurely walk back from the southern Cornish coast to the northern Cornish coast.
(If the bus fails us in any way, we have an option to meander up the Hayle River and back around).
