We are the Chiltern Young Walkers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join us for a moderate walk with some short steep hills, starting in Wendover Woods. We will be walking parts of the Chiltern Way and the Ridgeway through Pavis, Black and Northill Woods nature reserve, across farmland with livestock and out to St Leonards. When we reach St Leonards we will stop for a drink at the White Lion and if the weather is clear we can enjoy the beautiful views from their pub garden.
Please bring a packed lunch and we will stop to eat somewhere along the route.
Please keep any dogs on a short lead and be mindful of giving other people and dogs space in case they do not like dogs.
Parking is in a free car park at the exit for Wendover Woods. The nearest postcode is: HP23 6LD.
Turn off the Icknield Way as if you are going to Wendover Woods but continue past the main entrance and keep following the road past the golf club, campsite and dog rescue. The turning is on your right with a signpost saying "Wendover Woods exit". Before the road becomes 1 way, turn off to your right into the small, free car parks.
NOTE: Don't follow your sat nav through Wendover Woods car park or you will end up with a parking fine.
