Stage 2 of a walk from Odiham to Boxhill (and perhaps further!). Farnham station to Guildford station, following the North Downs Way for most of the route. The path starts very near Farnham station, follows the valley of the river Wey to the outskirts of the town and then goes along the wooded sandstone hills just to the south of the chalk ridge of the Hogs Back. We will pass close to the villages of The Sands and Seale and through Puttenham. Several golf courses and a very large fruit farm feature along the way. At the end of the walk we reach the river Wey again and follow that into Guildford.
The plan is to meet at Basingstoke railway station at 08.15 in order to catch the Waterloo train at 08.30. Then change at Woking for Farnham. We'll return from Guildford station, changing at Woking again. There will be a break for coffee/snacks and another for lunch. Bring your own refreshments.
There are some sections along roads early in the walk. Because of that there will be a limit on walker numbers to ensure safety. There are also a very busy roads to cross in Farnham (light controlled crossings) and near Puttenham. Busy roads can be avoided in Guildford.
