Overview

A 10 or11 mile Circular walk led by Jane R (Mobile No: 07906 987503) over undulating terrain via Great Bentley Farm, Ouse Valley Viaduct, .Ardingly Reservoir dam and Townhouse Farm to Ardingly Church. Have a picnic lunch stop there or walk ½ mile to ‘The Ardingly Inn’ or the ‘Ardingly Café’ in the centre of the village and ½ mile back to the Church. Head west along the lane across an arm of the reservoir and then along the reservoir’s north bank, which joins a lane and passes Balcombe Mill. On reaching Balcombe Lake, head west to ‘The Half Moon Inn’ then southwest along the B2036 or Rocks Lane and a footpath back to the station. Map: E135, L198.

NOTE: This walk replaces the Amersham circular via Great Missenden, which is affected by a planned closure of the entire Metropolitan line between Aldgate and Amersham and the Chiltern Railways service between Marylebone and Aylesbury Vale Parkway.
