We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This walk starts from the Meon Hall in Meonstoke which has a large car park.
In the morning we walk on mainly good paths and lanes towards Old Winchester Hill, but don't climb to the top. There are lovely views throughout most of the walk. The afternoon walk goes through Exton up towards Corhampton and back down through the fields. Again there are good views for most of the walk.
It is possible to treat this as a figure of eight walk as we pass the carpark on our way back from the morning walk.
There will be a coffee stop in the morning and our picnic lunch stop will be at the Church in Meonstoke - seats available!
There are two stiles and we will be walking uphill for part of both the morning and the afternoon. Only one short section is steep. Depending on the weather this week there may be some mud and puddles on a couple of paths
Please bring a picnic lunch and anything you need for a coffee stop.
Poles would be a good idea if used.
Please contact the leader as we may leave early if all expected are present.
From the West Meon /Exton direction on the A32, turn left just after the roundabout at the junction with the B3035. Pass the Bucks Head pub on your left and at the end of the road turn left, then immediately right into Pound Lane. The Hall will be on your right after about 200 yds.
