To save time on the day and the grouping of people together to hear the details of the risk assessment, here it is in writing.

4.5 miles, To include 105 steps up beside The Arkwright Project, mostly in small stages. 3 stiles including one optional, there are some short steep climbs, especially while we find our way through Lumsdale and Lumshill Quarries. Coffee/tea break when we reach the top of Lumshill (1.6 miles) Dogs on Leads please.

Risk assessment

Walking poles or sticks advised for stability. There are some rocky paths, could be slippery if wet and covered with Leaves, take care. Tree roots an obvious hazard in woodland. Some paths, little used, beware of Brambles and Bracken, Tripping Hazard. Some very short steep descents, take care, especially where rocks are present. We cross the busy A632, to use the footway and re-cross after 200 yards, good sight lines but take care. About .75 of a mile of very minor road walking, take care and keep right in single file, whilst traffic approaching. No cattle seen, nor sheep.
