Our journey begins by exploring the enchanting Tansley Woods and continues towards the picturesque Matlock Green, where we will join the tranquil River Derwent path. Along the way, we will pay our respects at the WW1 and WW2 monuments before embarking on a gentle ascent up High Tor, where captivating woodland paths, fondly known as the "lovers walk," await us.
As we descend back to the charming town of Matlock Bath, we'll enjoy a brief roadside stroll. Next, we venture into the scenic Lumsdale Valley, where we'll pass by the stunning Bentley and Brook Falls, as well as the fascinating ruins of water mills, which, regrettably, are currently closed to visitors.
On our return journey to Tansley, you'll have the opportunity to use the restroom facilities at Hall Leys Park in Matlock for a nominal fee of 20p. To conclude this delightful day, we invite you to join us for an optional drink at the Gate Inn, where we can unwind and share fond memories of our memorable trek.
Kindly park thoughtfully in the charming village of Tansley, and we will gather on Spout Lane beside the Parish church hall for our exciting adventure.
Please join us for this event and many others by RSVPing on our website.
