Overview

First half all downhill; second half – you can guess the rest! About 6 miles. Circular walk from Brun Clough across moorland towards Pule Hill and into the White Rose Forest to Butterley Spillway. There’s no ‘Yorkie Bar’ - even Lancastrians are allowed into the White Rose Forest. Down huge flight of steps; past former mill complex towards Marsden; left along Old Mount Road and then (good weather route) up (definitely up!) across moorland footpaths around Pule Hill to the Mount Road entrance to the W.R. Forest. If it is bad January weather. the route will follow Old Mount Road. Then up again on good moorland paths to Brun Clough.
