I'm planning to get the X43 back as they are every 20 minutes and the direct train only once an hour. When we did the recce we just missed the 17.00 from Manchester road so caught the 17.20 X43. Trains are c.17.30 and 18.30. Most folk have bus passes and fare is only 2 pounds so think this will be preferable, but if anyone wants to use the train we can walk up to Manchester road station, which we might do anyway.
This is a full day's walk of 11.5 miles and expect to arrive in Burnley 5pm or later. Also first 2 miles will be road walk on quiet lane. Is great walk though via Flower scar road, Thievely Pike and Singing Ringing Tree finishing in Townley Park, so long as weather is good as not much shelter!

Outside the ticket office at Victoria station for the 10:04 Victoria to Todmorden, and Todmorden Station - return can be via rail or X43 bus
