We start off along the John Muir Way but leave it when it drops towards Glen Fruin. We continue upwards across a boggy open hillside before reaching the heather clad summit of Tom na h-Airidh. Our return is along rough paths, forestry tracks and through Duchess Woods to the sea front.

Local Grade: C+

Terrain: Mostly along quiet roads and good paths but some pathless boggy sections. Some sections of path may be uneven and slippery.
